העבודה בנויה משני חלקים ובה מעין דגלים ארוכים שנוצרו בהשראת סיפוריה של תושבת השכונה ילידת 1920 רינה (שרה) נתן המייצרים מיתולוגיה ייחודית לה וליוצאי תימן בתקופתה.

בנוסף תוצג בפרויקט “חלון אמנית” (חלון הפונה לרחוב) עבודת וידיאו של זוג האמניות: מומו & נואז-לוסיאה מורנו ואווה נוגרה, זוג אמניות ספרדיות בוגרות תואר ראשון מאוניברסיטת ברצלונה ותואר שני מן המכון ההולנדי לאמנות. העבודה ״Fanboy” היא חלק ממיצב וידאו אשר בוחן מיתוסים דרך תרבות מוזיקלית. ולדימיר, הדמות בעבודת ווידיאו הוא מעריץ צעיר של המוזיקאי המקסיקני סילווריו, הערצתו לזמר ולדימיר מובילה להפיכתו למעין שיבוט של סילווריו. העלילה עוקבת אחר הקשר שנוצר בין ולדימיר לזמר, קשר של הערצה, אובססיביות וחיבה הבאים לידי ביטוי במחוות, יצירת אובייקטים, קטעי וידיאו ושירים.

Momo & Noaz / Fanboy
The Artist’s Window facing the street will also feature a video work by the artist-duo of Momo & Noaz (Luisa Morena and Eva Nogara, twoSpanish artists who have each earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Barcelona and a Master’s Degree from the Dutch Art Institute). The video art Fanboy is part of a video installation exploring myths through musical culture. Vladimir, the character in the video, is a young fan of the Mexican musician Silverio. His admiration for the singer leads him to become a kind of clone of Silverio. The video follows the bond formed between them, a bond of fandom, obsession and affection expressed in gestures, the creation of objects, video clips and songs.

במיצב הוידיאו סוגים שונים של קקטוסים המחוברים יחדיו ומייצרים יחידה אחת. חלק מן החיבורים הם אורגניים (כמו במקרה של הקקטוס החי שעשוי מהרכבה בוטנית של זן אחד של קקטוס על השני) וחלקם נוצרו על ידי מחשב. הוידיאו מייצר אנלוגיה משועשעת בין הרכבת הקקטוסים לחיבור בין האמנית ואמה. כך, בוחן מיצב הוידיאו והצילום סוגים שונים של המשכיות, הרכבה, גידול וטיפוח.

Ori Levin / Grafting
Ori Levin’s video depicts various types of cacti connected to form a single unit. Some of the connections are organic (as in the case of a botanical graft of one variety onto another) while others are computer-generated. The video creates an amusing analogy between grafting cacti and the connection between the artist and her mother, thus examining through film and stills various types of continuity, hybridization, growth and nurturing.

העבודה, שנוצרה במיוחד לחלונות הגלריה נולדה מסצנה בסרט “נשף מכבי האש” ובה תחרות יופי של נערות העיירה המהלכות בפני צוות כבאים השופט בה. בעבודה מציבה שניאור דמויות בגודל טבעי בהן מטושטש הגבול בין החוץ והפנים.
שתי הנשים שבצילום, הצלמת והמצולמת, מתמזגות לאחת כאשר הצלמת (המצלמת מבחוץ) משתקפת בדמות המצולמת ומצטרפת לנוף המשתנה של החוץ. הנוכחות הפיזית מתפוגגת בהצבה על החלון ומצוייה במרחבי הביניים של תעתועי הראייה כאשר חלקי גופה של הדמות המצולמת משנים גודל וצורה.
ההפרדה בין המבט מבחוץ והמבט מבפנים אינה ברורה,כשכל דקה בזמן מוסיפה או מחסירה שכבה ופעימה של התרחשות ברחוב הצמוד לחלון.
היחס למדיום הקולנועי בא לידי ביטוי בעבודה גם בהקשר לחומר של הסרט (הפילם) טרום העידן הדיגיטאלי ויש בה מעין ניסיון לתרגם פיזית דימוי קולנועי מפילם לחומר שקוף אחר.

Alma Shneor / Helena, inside and out
The work, created as a site-specific work for the gallery windows, has as its inception the film The Firemen’s Ball (1967, Dir. Milos Forman), in which the local young women parade before a panel of judges in a beauty contest. Shneor places life-size figures in the window, thus blurring the border between outside and inside.
The two women in the photograph, the photographer and her subject, blend into one, when the photographer (who takes pictures from the outside) is reflected in the figure of the subject, joining the changing outside landscape. When installed in the window, the figure’s physical presence dissipates, to be located in the intermediate spaces of the visual illusions when parts of the body of the photographed figure change size and form.
The separation between the external gaze and the gaze from the interior is unclear, with each moment of time adding or removing a layer and a beat of the events taking place in the street just adjacent to the window.
The artist’s attitude to the cinematic medium is reflected in the work in the context of the film itself, the material of cinema before the digital age. It embodies an attempt to physically translate the cinematic image from the plastic strip of film itself into a different transparent medium.
